Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is an action-adventure game and a sequel to the game, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, and the 35th installment on the Castlevania franchise. The game is in development by MercurySteam and published by Konami. The story is set in both medieval and modern worlds. Dracula awakens many years after the events of the two previous Lords of Shadow titles. He has been warned by Zobek of the return of Satan and sets out to regain his powers so that he may face Satan once again.
The key to him regaining his power lies in his castle. However, the famed Belmont clan and his son Alucard seek his ultimate destruction. This game is the first to allow the player to control Dracula as the primary character as Dracula was playable in Castlevania: Judgment , rather than his reincarnated form, another hero, or an alternate version of him. Also, unlike the classic Castlevania series, the Lords of Shadow timeline has a very intentional end, which will take place in this game.
Even though the level based structure is no longer being used, the Travel Book from the first two games still makes an appearance. The book appears when the game is first started, being read by Dracula. This weapon is same in its destruction as that of Combat Cross in the first game.
Some new weapons have also been introduced like Void Sword and Chaos Claws. Void Sword is the weapon which will improve the health of Dracula.
Chaos Claws is the weapons which can be used to break through the line of defenses of the enemies. The player can move the character in any direction as it is an open world game.
