It was intended to counter The Project , a historical project which centered slavery in American history. In the past I made a small donation to Internet Archive, because I think it's a valuable service. I got on here today and found their "synopsis" of this report, and just don't feel like making that second planned donation. I read the whole report when it came out. My first thought is that it's sad that this report is needed; the state of our history and civics education is appalling.
I was disappointed that the beginning of the report doesn't mention Native Americans, which I think detracts. Other than that, I looked really hard for the "white supremacy" and didn't find it. We need education about the founding principles; just because we haven't always lived up to them does negate them. It would be laughable if not so completely pathetic, to see an extremely well written essay outlining American Exceptionalism as a "white supremacist document".
Probably hoping to deter some from even reading it, whomever wrote that description is completely dishonest. Only an America-hating bigot would characterize it as having anything to do with white supremacy. I think the country is growing very weary of these sociopaths who hate our country and try to smear anything that stems from our Constitution, Declaration of Independence and Founding Fathers in general as racist.
